Maybe you’ve seen our friend Sophia on Late Night. She’s a highly reactive, ever-evolving humanoid robot from Hanson Robotics that has been a guest of Jimmy’s on more than one occasion – telling jokes and stealing the spotlight.
Well, Hanson Robotics recently released a Kickstarter campaign for a miniature version of Sophia, called Little Sophia, and we were lucky enough to meet both Sophias in the process of producing their Kickstarter video.
We joined the original Sophia on her media blitz to launch Little Sophia at CES in Las Vegas, and filmed with Little Sophia at an undisclosed location in Houston. It’s truly amazing what this little lady can do, and so it’s no wonder that the Kickstarter received full funding in just a day!
In this phase we strategized how to feature Little Sophia’s advanced capabilities, including her interactive features, educational functions, and engaging personality. We cast our actors and determined the logistics of filming in multiple locations and in conversation with Sophia, Little Sophia’s predecessor.
Photography for this video focused on dynamic demonstrations and close-up shots. We captured how Little Sophia can interact with users, provide educational content, and adapt to various learning environments.
Our goal in the edit was to capture the innovative technology behind Little Sophia and its potential impact on education and robotics, inspiring investors, potential customers, and future scientists and roboticists!
