The videos capture the resilience and community spirit demonstrated through relief efforts, showcasing how the Federation mobilized resources, provided aid, and helped institutions recover and rebuild in the aftermath of the disaster.
In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, and with many of our colleagues, friends, and loved ones suffering from the damage, we were all inspired to support our community using our videographic skills to help bolster fundraising for community organizations. As soon as conditions were safe, we sent our network out into the field to capture the footage we would need to do so.
Safety is top priority when visiting sites that have been devastated by natural weather events, and this was no different. Care had to be taken to ensure the safety of our crews, the safety of our equipment, and the safety of the sites that we were trying to help preserve.
Creating this package of videos allowed the Jewish Federation of Houston to raise further funding as well as publicize the effects of benefators’ generous donations. Our intention with the videos is to show the great need caused by the disaster but to also provide hope in demonstrating the resiliency of the community.
