Cut to Create works with you to map out your vision and prepare for a successful and effective video. We get to know our clients' needs, goals, and perspective to inform scripting and strategy. Meticulous planning in advance of filming ensures alignment across the whole team of creatives involved with the project.
We take the time to understand your goals and brand so we can collaborate on creative ways to communicate your message.
We’ll write a script, do the research to build an interview structure… maybe even create a storyboard which allows all stakeholders to coalesce around a common vision.
We develop a detailed production plan, coordinate our filming days down to the minute and communicate all preparatory information to participants.
Some videos require compiling archival materials, creative assets, or other background research to inform the copy and creative of your video project.
We dive into the best strategies to reach your audience and set you apart from your competitors.
For more complex projects, storyboarding creates a more visual representation of the shooting script allows all stakeholders to coalesce around a common vision.
We source the best casting options for our clients to select, handling auditions and contract negotiations. We make hiring talent for scripted content a breeze.
Before a shoot we familiarize ourselves with the location in order to maximize visual impact and efficiency on set.
We secure proper permitting for filming as well as any insurance or licensing needs.
Informed by our location scout and our own creativity, we draft a detailed list of visual imagery to be captured for your project.
Our Pre-production services conclude with a comprehensive filming schedule ready to be executed in the production phase.

We create an itemized project budget specific to each client’s needs. Nothing more, nothing less. As part of our corporate Pre-Production services, Cut to Create has some deliverables baked into almost every project – we create a functional shooting script, a production schedule and shot list, and materials to guide on-screen talent prep. These fees, as well as project management fees which cover research, pre-interviews, scheduling, and production insurance, will be present in every project. Additional fees may be incurred for Casting, additional location scouting, etc. Because we are not interested in charging you for anything you don’t need, we refrain from giving any general budget numbers until we’ve had a chance to hear from you.
Unfortunately, no. We’re creative people, but we’re also practical. In order to provide you with a Cut to Create-level quality project, there is much more to pre-production than preparing the script and showing up on the day. The processes we implement in Pre-Production ensure everyone knows what to expect, our team is set up for success, and more importantly – we’ve taken the time to prepare your team for what to expect during filming and post-production. Think of the effort put into Pre-Production as insurance for the rest of the project. The more time spent here, the more predictable the following two steps will be. While it may be tempting to shave off some of the budget by eliminating these steps, we assure you it won’t feel very cost-effective to pay for a filming day that is cancelled due to lack of permitting or permissions, or other otherwise avoidable issues.
We’re creative people and that’s exactly the kind of problem we love to help with! We recommend starting by making a playlist of other videos you like as well as ones you don’t, with notes about the specific features that align (or don’t) with your brand. We can then start with these “ingredients” to develop the right video “recipe” to help you meet your goals. Ultimately conversation is how we get these things going, so let’s set up a meeting. Together we can determine which pre-production services your project really needs.
We’re creative people so we’re used to rejection. It’s ok. Sure, we’d love to bat 1000 but like all humans, we might not hit a bullseye on the first shot. (We sure can punt our sports metaphors around though, huh?) But seriously, we will work with you on your concept until it hits all the right notes and you feel like we’re ready to collectively knock it out of the park.
Yes. We are able to source talent and will do initial research (guided by your needs) and then provide you with a shortlist of auditions to select from. If you don’t see/hear something that fits, we will bring you some more options. A person can get lost in this process and overwhelmed with submissions, so we help save you time by bringing you vetted, reputable talent right to your doorstep. Yes, we can also come to your office and record John from HR doing the Voice Over for your video, if that’s what you prefer!
