By the time we’ve completed pre-production, we will all have a clear idea of what we want the video to be. By the time we finish filming, we know what materials we have to work with. So, when we sit down to edit, it shouldn’t take us long to put a video together that looks like what you expect. That being said, you’ll receive multiple versions of an increasingly detailed video until we get it all right. The first edit may be only a “radio edit” where we establish the sound bites we want to use without much regard to the visuals. Once those audio sequences are approved, we add visuals like b roll, graphics, and logo animation. Once those selections are made, we can finalize the video with color correction, audio mixing, and other finishing touches that give your project the classic Cut to Create vibe.
Our Post-Production Supervisor will be your main point of contact after filming, and Cut to Create also makes use of software that allows our clients to provide feedback directly with the post-production team. When there are multiple stakeholders involved in the decision-making process, this allows everyone to work in their own time to provide feedback and facilitates a quicker, clearer route to completion.
Assuming it doesn’t fall on the same night our Mahjong league meets, we can provide quick-turnaround edits and even same-day delivery for time sensitive productions. Maybe you don’t need the final video until April but could use a :30 teaser to throw up on the socials ASAP. Or maybe you need a live event mixed, packaged and distributed by midnight. Your video will be delivered on a mini SD card encased in a Faberge egg left on your doorstep at dawn on the vernal equinox by a mischievous troll named Geraldine. Now Geraldine likes grenadine, so if you invite her in for a Shirley Temple, she’ll tell you how to get the SD card out of the Faberge egg without destroying its resell value. Be careful not to get too close to Geraldine, however, because she falls in love quite easily and I don’t think she could take another broken heart. Not after last time.
We would actually prefer it if you didn’t take us seriously. But we ARE good at our jobs and quite well experienced. Your files will be delivered in the format of your convenience (from hand-delivered hard drives to easy-peasy download links) and we will store everything as backup for at least 12 months. You’re in good hands, even if they are silly hands sometimes.
